Fun Day In The Mailbox

I have a weird relationship with checking the mail lately. Now that we live in the house we get significantly more mail than we did in the apartment. A lot of that is attributed to the five other people using this as their permanent address...but I digress.

Already having a problem with doing things on time *ahem* checking the mail is not one of my strong suits. Let's just say I've had to go to the post office more than once this summer to pick up mail that the mailman just got tired of trying to make fit.

My philosophy about it is that-I don't check the mail unless I know I'm expecting something. The junk mail gets thrown away no matter how much I think I'm going to use that 20% off Kohl's coupon. (They give it to you anyway at the check out *eye roll*)

When I have something coming in the mail I am on that tracking number every hour even if it is still in Pittsburgh or Tallahassee. You never know. Thanks technology.

My first order from Poshmark came in today. Let's talk about Poshmark for a second-HOLY MOLY! I joined it a few months ago thinking I'd find stuff to fill my freelance kit at a cheaper price. Nope. Like a lot of buy-sell-trade sites, people way over priced their used things. So I gave up and deleted the app.

I had a hankering though, this week for the Urban Decay Electric Palette but was not about to spend $50 that I do not have on it.

But there it was on Poshmark for $25. (That sold flag was me *wink*)

I've never bought anything on there before but after checking the comments people were trying to trade and whatnot for the palette. I couldn't tell if anyone was committed to it. So I clicked the "Buy Now" button and it was mine. I was confused for a minute though. How was I the first person to buy it at such a good deal? I want the palette. I'm not going to waste my time haggling over something that's marked at 50% off...buy now.

It shipped in less than 12 hours and, no joke, three days later, I have the Urban Decay Electric Palette. Gently used. Boom.

The second awesomeness in my mailbox this morning-you best believe I jumped out of bed when the USPS Tracking said "Delivered in Mailbox"-was my Square card reader. If you're a small business or you've been to some sort of pop-up, hipster establishment you've probably seen them swipe your credit card from their phone or iPad.

I've used PayPal thus far in my freelance work, I have yet to use their card swiper (which I also have) but I ordered the Square because lets face it, 1. It's Free and 2. In my mind, I feel like Square looks more professional.

Is that crazy? If you have any experience with either, I would love to know what you think about it. Leave me a comment, lets chat.

And finally, my renewed Driver's License came in the mail. All is right with the world again. Aside from my fat faced photo ID. But that's my problem.

xoxo -A
